YBM? This is an English Village..................I knew some folks working at an English village a couple years back, and they said the pay was MUCH higher then it is now, less work, and more vacation time.

Don't these people realize that lowering wages, benefits, increasing the workload and not keeping teachers is not going to help?

Meh.....what do I know?

96 TEACHING hours? No way.

You can't leave during lunch, as it would seem.
Evening classes, after all that? Um, no thanks.
Working on a national holiday, for 50,000 won? No thanks.
Free utilities....ok, perhaps.
Oh....it is YBM.......my bad.
Trasnportation to the school. Yeah, that means you have leave quite early, and arrive there quite early...........11 hour days, for 2.0 won a month?

yikes.

It is sad when being paid on time is considered to be a bonus...something special.

Yeah, but they meant after the labor board complaint, small claims court judgement and until hell freezes over.

(1) Low wages for all the hours worked even for first year teachers in Korea. I would not work for less than 2,400,000 Korean Won per month throughout the contract term for this school. New teachers can get 2,500,000 per month at a public school depending on the location.

(2) Teachers are entitled to ten (10) days of paid vacation and not seven (7).

(3) 50,000 Korean Won as a holiday bonus for teaching on holidays. You are being underpaid at the rate of 50,000 Korean Won per day.
