I have heard several foreign women complain that foreign, Western men are not so interested in them, and they are interested in they are more interested in the Korean women. I, personally, have not taken a poll, and I can't speak for other Western guys, but I don't really agree with that. My take is that we guys here are considered exotic, just as some foreign men are considered exotic back in North America. We live in Korea and not in New York or Montreal, so the women are overwhelmingly Korean and many Korean women are quite friendly. Yes, you can meet many Western girls in Itaewon, but people of both genders work and are mostly in the areas near where they work.
I am sure that there are some Western men who do prefer Korean women. However, just because many Western men are dating Korean women doesn't mean they prefer one over the other. They may be fine with either and simply like women in many cases. You have to consider that you hear more from Western men a willingness to date Koreans than from the Western women. Of course, I have met Western women who have Korean boyfriends and husbands etc... Guys aren't usually going to just stay single in Korea until they find the appropriate Western woman.
Is my assessment off the mark or on it?

Yes, way over done.
My 2 pence:
In Korea, many Western men prefer Koreans since Korean is 98% Korean. A love for Brazilian chicks may not result in a man daing a Brazilian in Korea.

Kind of a running joke when a topic is brought up continually. I do wish they'd change that search option. If you switch the tab to "all" it works correctly. However the default is set to the other option. It's cool man.
I think a lot of Western guys prefer Korean women because Korea is 99% Korean. Lots of fish in the sea so to speak. |

I will not put this thread to death by saying anything negative about western women. That is usually when the degeneration starts.
I will say this: A change is good. Koreans girls are different than western girls in a lot of ways. |

I didn't mean to bring up a topic that has been done ad nauseum. Some of us haven't been here for as long as others. I was just annoyed by someone who insisted I was wrong when I said that were, so to speak, in an area where there is tons more fish than lobster, and if you get a fish in fish territory, then that's extremely normal.
Korean women are often rather attractive, more available, you don't have to go to Itaewon or Hongdae to find one, they are all over your neighbourhood, and you are exotic to them. To a foreign girl, you aren't exotic. This is, by no means, a slam against foreign girls. Some of them are very awesome, and I don't 200 to make a gross generalization, but I have heard too many claim Western men are not interested in them. Anyway, it is hard for Western men to know Korean girl's games or be aware of the risks with them or their attitudes, but they are familiar with the attitudes of Western girls and vice versa. So you might be more likely to take a risk, because you can't really see dangerous territory.
But I don't think most fellows here prefer Koreans over Westerners.
They just generally like women. It would be like saying a Mexican American dating a white girl isn't interested in Chicanas since he isn't with one. |

I never had a preference for Asian women over Western women. In fact, I had never dated an Asian woman before I came here (Swiss, Brit, Canadian, American...), and didn't really have the intention to do so. It came down to simple facts:
1) I didn't meet any attractive, interesting Western women here.
2) I met a lot of attractive, interesting Korean women here.
I have no idea why this topic is so hot. Kind of a no-brainer from where I stand. |

Off.
It all comes down to availability... millions of Korean women walking around vs. a couple dozen (hundred?) Western women. I don't even see a Western woman unless I'm at work, and they're all spoken for. |
