Talking 'bout sun dried tomato pesto. Talking 'bout a jar I got a year ago and left in a cupboard until tonight.

So anyway, it's supposed to have this funky, sweet, peculiar, off-putting taste, right? And that hint of ptomaine is just for added zing -- it's the mark of a quality sun-dried tomato product, isn't it? I mean, this here is the taste everyone looks for sun-dried tomatoes, correct?

I know I've had sun-dried tomato concoctions before. Have I just forgotten how ersatzy and sickly-sweet it's supposed to taste? Or is this a jar of Pesto Gone Wrong? I tried Googling "sun-dried tomato pesto" + "weird-ass sweet taste" + "don't worry, it won't kill you", but got no results. Sad

Stick your index finger down your throat and then wait for the beneficial results, eh.

If there's a black ring around the sill of the bottle it's time to get out the webcam 'cause death by botch is supposed to be pretty wild.

If there's no visible mold, you're prolly going to live. Get the cam just in case...you're likely to live, but it might be a helluva ride anyway.

I think your immune system is a stoic unit. You'll check in with us in the morning, just in case?

Well, you do have medical and probably tomorrow off. So I'll second Roch. By the time your tongue is numb, it's too late. If you go, take the jar with you. Wtf, make a night of it...

At least get the webcam going, man.

Guru! Still there? Have you passed away, passed on, checked out, bit the big one, kicked the bucket, bitten the dust, popped your clogs, bought the farm, cashed in your chips, croaked, given up the ghost (originally a more respectful term, cf. the death of Jesus as translated in the King James Version of the Bible Mark 15:37), gone south, shuffled off this mortal coil, or assumed room temperature?
Are you fragged, snuffed, toast, wormfood, bait, landfill, chum, sausage filling, meat, or, perhaps, a done deal? Are you off, like a Jewish foreskin? Did you make like a tree, and leave? Are you posthumous? Are you late? Are you in a better place? Are you in the halls of your ancestors? Are you in the Happy Hunting Ground? Have you gone to that Great Jongno in the sky? Do you sleep with the fishes? Have you transmigrated into animals, vegetables or minerals? Have you suffered unlawful or arbitrary deprivation of life, or gone the way of the dinosaurs and dodos?
Are you in Heaven, Hell, Hel, Valhalla, the Fields of Yalu, sheol, Elysium, Hades, Limbo, gehenna, or hamistagan? If you're in some place of torment, punch L. Ron Hubbard in the teeth, and you'll feel a lot better.
Are you now pushing up daisies, sleeping the big sleep, taking a dirt nap, or six feet under? Have you joined the choir invisible? Are you an ex-guru? Have you ceased to be? Have your metabolic processes become a matter of interest only to historians?
I hope not. But look, if you're really on your way out, try dying at your keyboard with your mouse in your mouth and a fiber optic cable up your nose. This is the only sure way to achieve immortality; you can become a ghost in the machine, and continue to make your worthy contributions to the old ESLcafe from beyond the grave.
That's what I did.
Or did I just move to Jeollanamdo?

Would this be an innapropriate time to mention that I would gladly pay $15 to see a show by any band called Pesto Gone Wrong?

Guru, are you there? I hope you didn't die. Come back, Guru! Don't go into the light! It's not your time!
