Also, speaking of Paris, one of my students just got back from spending a week in Paris. A gyopo girl I work with looked at me like I was crazy, and then asked Paris??? Where is that??? Come on people! People with uni degrees who don't know simple things like this??? I guess some folks are geographically impaired.

if i had to change from england i would say Ireland. good standard of living, you are still a native speaker, pretty inoffensive history, everyone seems to love the irish for some reason, though perhaps that is because everybody seems to think they are part irish.

I think the word your looking for is ' choose ' as opposed to ' chose ' in the context of your sentence. Nice to see another ESL teacher who cannot spell and/or understand tenses.
