And scroll down. I cant cut & paste cuz its a graphic. My initial reaction (much like last year) is "MEH". Wouldn't mind seeing the Muse. If I found myself in the same venue that the Chemical Bros were playing in, I guess I'd swing by their stage too. Vanilla Unity? Vodka Rain?? Where do they find these bands?

yeah~ my initial thought was actually "hmm... could be cool" but then i saw how much it cost. ouch.
i remember paying sooo much less to see chem bros/muse/damien rice... (separately, of course)
but hey, at least its rock and not k-pop... hopefully. |

sounds pretty good, but i would expect some larger bands, considering the festival circuit bands in europe and the states this summer, they should all travel together to ROK too.
damien rice is a tool, lives down the street from me went to school with him. he is also the worst tipper in restaunants ever, 300 euro bill, 3 euro tip. |

Do you think the lack of interest in this thread is correlated to the imminent failure of the Pentaport 2007 festival due to its underwhelming lineup? |

Booooooooooooooooo!
Was looking forward to it. Last year's line up was pretty sweet. So not going this year. That July festival in Tokyo is looking pretty sweet though. www.pollstar.com |

damn. although i do like hellogoodbye, these are all bands that you can see for about 20 bucks back at home. if that.
you can't charge over 100,000 won for some better-known indie bands. and i'm using the phrase "better-known" ridiculously loosely, especially since i've only heard of approx. 4 of 'em. |

How much do 2-3 day music festivals with international bands cost in other countries?

The only band playing there that looks any good is Johnny Royal. They're always worth seeing. |

I understand that it's comparable to big music festivals at home, but if I go to a 3-day festival in the States, the lineup is usually chockful of incredible bands. My point with this one is more that these are bands that you can see at home for next to nothing.
I recently missed Bamboozle, where they literally have 100s of indie-ish bands playing for 2 days. Cost? $35/day. And a few of the bands in this lineup played at that festival. |

What is this 'The Answer' band? Spin-off of 'The Calling'? God I hope not. Am seriously disappointed...
I want Clap Your Hands and The Shins.
Fuji Festival is hellishly expensive. Damnit damnit. |

Yup, but you've totally lost the point. Korea is still a developing music scene. I know people who not to recently paid 95,000 won just to see Muse. |

Nah, I dig it. I was just answering his question.
But this is also why I can't last much more than a year over here. At home, I go to concerts almost every week. Here, I just can't quite justify paying sooo much for something like this, especially when most of the bands/groups/DJs that come through aren't generally my style.
Ah well, I have a feeling that June 14-17 (Bonnaroo) will also be tough days not to be back in the States... |
