Hi everyone

I'm new to the city and keen to find a gym. I've hit the pavement and the one which caught my eye (off main rd/clean/not too small) asked 180,000 for three months.

Is anyone living in this area? I did a search but there were only about 3 threads which mentioned Cheonho (none on Myeongil) and none pertained to gyms. So... anyone in the area able to point me to a good gym?

Where exactly do you live?

I used to live in Cheonho and there are lots of gyms around. Just like in any other part of Seoul, the prices will vary between 30,000/month to about 100,000 depending on the facilities.

They will all be pretty average in terms of equipment, no squat racks.

I used to go to one near Gangdong Station which was 70,000 a month or 180,000 for three. Nothing special, pretty standard for the price, but the staff were good and it was two minutes walk from my house, so I kept going there.

I don't know Myeongil very well, but I'd say just take a walk around near the station and there should be a couple. There are a few in Godeok too.

There are five pages of gyms here. Pages 2, 4 and 5 seem to have some close to Myeongil Station. Get a Korean speaker/reader to help you if you can't figure it out.

I think there's a Jamaica gym in Cheonho, just past Outback Steakhouse and across from E-mart. I saw it from the outside so don't know what it looks like inside or how much they charge. Maybe worth checking out.

I saw in another thread someone's rec for Jamaica and I was wondering where it was. It's actually a 20 minute walk for me to get there... Cheonho seems to encompass a large area!
