Jinju, if you know a farm has a bird flu and you won't allow the CDC to warn poultry farm workers they are at risk and should thus take necessary protection are you responsible for their deaths and the deaths of their families?

Shame on you, Octavius. You forgot the most important part.
"Fa la la la la, la la la, la la la, fa la la la la la la."
My only regret about that rotten, horrible, cynical bassturd's death is that it was not preceded, as Reagan's was, by ten years of a vegetative state.
Now, when's someone going to throw a bucket of water on his sister, Pat Robertson, the Wicked Witch of the West?
Hitler didn't believe himself to be evil, either. Would you call people who hated him and were glad he died just another example of bitter "lefties" with opposing points of view?
Whoever in this thread said that the greatest different between Hitler and the radical religious right in America is just a matter of the fact that the RRR hasn't yet attained the dictatorship was dead on.
**** Falwell. I'm glad he's dead, and in a place where he can do no more damage to the world. Fa la la la la, la la la, la la la, fa la la la la la la. Ding Dong, the Witch is dead.
das
P.S. The Soviet system was corrupt and economically unviable. It would have collapsed under its own dead weight whoever had been in the White House in the 80s, even if it would have taken a couple more years. The Reagan coterie knew this, too, but pounding the drums of war has never been a bad strategy to keep the masses in line, and so we spent, spent, spent tax dollars on a needless beefing up of the military for no other reason than to keep the GOP in power. Reagan was a duplicitious, evil worm who, among many other things, allowed the AIDS crisis to go critically underfunded because he knew that to fund the problem properly would cost the GOP votes. **** him, too. |

While I would not have wished death upon him, I'm damn glad he is dead. The *beep*.
But Ronnie? He wasn't that bad. I would not put him with JF. Not by a long shot. |

Jerry Falwell was just a guy with a big mouth who was wrong most of the time who happened to get a big soapbox. There is no reason to celebrate his death. He weilded no power. He talked a lot, many people listened, but he did nothing.
There are people here on this forum who are just the same: big mouth, wrong most of the time, only they have a dinky little soapbox (Dave's). How sad they are. They too talk a lot, but nobody listens, and they too do nothing. Perhaps they just have size envy.
Hitler, Castro (oh let it be soon), Sadam, FDR - these are people whose deaths we can celebrate. They did great, evil things. The world will suffer for hundreds of years because of their evil.
I would never rejoice in the death of a man who had nothing other than a big mouth.
I might, however, celebrate the silence. |

ontheway:Was that a typo or are you seriously suggesting FDR belongs on a list w/Hitler, Castro and Saddam?! I'm no fan of the New Deal or FDR's foreign policy gaffes, but yeeesh...had I been alive in '45 I don't think I'd've danced in the streets when he croaked.

While I wouldn't put him in the same class as Hitler or Stalin, FDR did more damage to the U.S. than Reagan, Falwell, the eeeeevil Bushie, Nixon, and Slick Willie combined. While I wouldn't have thrown a party, I probably would have breathed a sigh of relief that the reign of King Franklin was over. |

The bird flu analogy was simply idiotic. I wasnt going to even bother with it till you begged.
If you dont see a difference between a highly contagious disease like bird flu and a disease of lifestyle like AIDS then your eyes are wide shut. |

Rubbish and drivel. How did FDR harm the US? I have my own reasons for disliking FDR but its from a non-american perspective. Looking at him through the eyes of an American I could only laugh at this. |

God you are one soulless dude. All those African babies really do deserve to die.
Its so funny how conservatives attack us Liberals for hating people, but their sadistic hatred of anything other than white, christian, straight men is why you are evil. And its why Falwell and the Gipper are warming the coals of hell. |

So now the African epidemic is reagan's fault? What a great example of liberal rubbish you are serving up. Intellectual fast food.

How is what Im saying hateful? Gay men at that time knew about AIDS, dont act as if it was somehow unknown. Did it take a CDC announcement to wake them up? Ive seen plenty of documentaries on the beginnings of the HIV epidemic to know that gay men were hip to what was happening, atleast to its risks but continued to live out modern day Soddom anyway. The Gipper never gave anyone AIDS. Wake up. |

Talk about reading comprehension! You insinuated that the only people that get AIDS are those who engage in risky behaviour. What about the children, or wives, or hemopheliacs?

I'm going to say this again for the retarded kids. The Reagan Administration covered up and hid the disease from the genral public. Instead of issuing warnings to the people that were most affected they did nothing or close to it.
My bird flu anaolgy is spot on. When bird flu struck, they issued warnings, closed farms, it made worldwide news. It took years, YEARS for Reagan to even say the word AIDS. |
