Check out page 7 of todays Korean Times. Great ad by the Korean Independent Commission Against Curruption.
A People who Prizes Purity
(picture of a traditional Korean white shirt)
The Koreans of old were know as the "white-clad people" because of their traditional wear. Their fondness for white coincides with a deep-seated desire to remain unsullied from corruption. The people are carrying on this tradition today, and you can look forward to a clean and transparent business environment in Korea.
The irony is that there are no less than 3 stories on the previous page (business section) that discuss rampant curruption in the Korean business world (a couple even use the word "corruption in the headline).

Bravo to the Koreans who try to succeed the legitimate way. |
Bravo even more to the few Korean institutions who let them. |

How does that saying go? If you tell a big enough lie, people will believe you. Corruption is endemic here. Land of the white envelope. |

I'm American, so I know quite a bit about people talking about truth, honor and righteousness and then doing the exact opposite. Corruption and stupidty is a human issue, not so much a Korean issue. |

I don't think anyone said it was solely a Korean issue or trait. The op was pointing out the contrast of an ad preaching about how pure the Korean business spirit is with the business section having much to report about government scandals.... |
