Was it you? Were you this week's unlucky soul who innocently went out for a brewski or two, only to find yourself "surrounded" by Korean guys with chains and soju bottles, intent on teaching you some respect?

So, what happened?

I was in a Noraebang with some male Koreans and had to listen to their singing(AHHHRRGGHHHH!!!). Does that count as getting beaten up. They did pay for the whiskey and Anju though so can't complain. Smile

When I was near Pusan National University on
Saturday night, I found the streets swarming with
people. If you happen to be going to dinner with two
or three cute Korean girls, and your American guy
pals happen to be elsewhere at the time, you might
be encountering some bad Korean stuff coming out of
the bars, yelling "who's the Mee-Gook." If you turn
around, look them in the eye with that Clint Eastwood
"Do Ya Feel Lucky Punk?... Go Ahead, Make My Day"
look ... you'd be surprised how fast the problem disappears
and the Koreans go back in the bar for another brewski. Razz
As with Eastwood though, it helps if you're over 6 feet tall,
weigh over 200 pounds, and look like you spend a whole
lot of time in the "Hellsa Clubs" pumping iron. It also helps
if you look like you just got in a real bad mood. A word to the
wise -- don't try this at home ... that is, don't do this unless
push comes to shove.

I got beaten pretty bad at a drinking game with some bartenders and barmaids last night, does that count?

The day before yesterday (so not quite last night), some arsehole (tanked up white guy - not a GI but possibly American?) grabbed my man by the throat (sharp nails digging in and blocking off his air supply) because he politely asserted that it was his turn to play pool in a popular Itaewon bar. Me man's name was on the board and he'd been waiting a couple of hours and this other guy just stepped in and decided he was going to play pool there and then and nobody ought to tell him he shouldn't.

My feller has one hell of a punch and smacked this b@$!@rd full in the face, good and proper. A friend of ours then marched the latter off to security, while he cried "My eye, my eye!" (the big tiger turned kitty cat).

Of course my bloke wanted to beat absolute $h!t out of this @r$eh0!e but refrained from giving in to his baser instincts, despite having been attacked first (and entirely undeservedly) and despite a proven ability (he comes from a rough corner of the world where you need to learn to fight if you're going to make it out of childhood - nevermind adolesence - relatively unscathed and he can beat the hell out of 99.99% of the population if he needs to).

He then courteously gave back the b@$!@rd's spectacles to one of his friends - resisting the initial temptation to stamp on them. In a split second he decided it would be too nasty. Afterwards he said the guy had probably just had too much to drink. My bloke is a really good guy. I really admire him for his civility. If I had his fighting abilities I'd have beat absolute cr@p out of the git and relished every juicy moment of it. Then I would have taken one of his molars for a trophy and supped on his fresh salty blood.

That w@nker is so lucky I am me and not my guy. Evil or Very Mad
