|
|
Hi! I'll be arriving in Seoul next Saturday and I'm curious about good hair salons (particularly near the Songpa area). I NEED a magic straight bc my hair looks like a brillo pad without an 1 1/2 hour routine.
So can I just walk in and make an appointment or do I need a referral? How long do you typically have to wait?? |

You shouldn't need an appointment at all, since every salon in the country does magic straight.
If you're in the Songpa area (I lived in songpa-gu last year), I suggest going to where I got mine done twice last year.
Go to Sincheon station (not the one in Hongdae... this one is next to Jamsil station on line #2 - it's Songpa-gu), and go out exit #4 I believe. You will only walk like a minute or two tops. Unless the area has changed, you will see a phone and fun, and a body shop on your left. The hair salon is in the same building as the body shop, but on the second or third floor. If you look up, you will see a black and white sign that says 20,000. Most of what they do there is 20,000 or less. Last year when I went I had shoulder length hair and paid 30,000 for the magic straight (about 30 bucks). Judging from your photos you had posted earlier, your hair is much longer, so it will likely cost more. I had a Korean friend of mine tell me about this place, and two more of my friends have gone and loved the results. I'm pretty sure it's exit 4.
Hope this helped! |

Seoulshakin: Thanks so much!!! So I can just do a walk-in? And they should do it on the spot? I know the answer to this but are salons open on Sundays in Korea?
Thanks again! |

Hey -
I've always just done a walk-in there, and been looked after quickly. Once I had to wait 15 or 20 for a free stylist, but that was no biggie. They really look after you there. They serve coffee or green tea, little cookies, toast etc. They are open after 10am every day.
Good luck
Happy hair altering! |
