Hi. I am looking for a left-handed acoustic guitar. Nothing fancy. Just something to play on.

Send me a PM if anyone has one available or know where I can buy one in Seoul.

As I said in your other thread:

Your best bet is to get a right handed guitar, buy a new nut cut for a lefty and restring it. And I know your plight. You see, I too am a lefty.

When I've browsed on auction.co.kr I'll find (I was looking for basses but I imagine guitars too) right handed ones going for 100k-300k (got mine for 90k!!) while the cheapest left handed one was 700k.

For guitars in general I would recommend that place in Insadong. Never can remember the name of it and it's not important. It's the big building that straddles the street next to Old People's Park (watch out, they are some mean drunks). Last time I went I saw one left handed guitar, electric, and it was a decent deal, about 500k for a highly sought after guitar. That was one left handed guitar in a good couple hundred.

Changing the nut and strings costs about 20k total. It's what I'm doing with my newly bought bass.

That place in Insadong is where you get it done. My last guitar took about 30 minutes to change.

are you refering to the nakwon music center near jognro-3-ga or anguk stations on the 3 line?
if so, that would be a good place to start chachee.
they have a buncj of small shops that do custom work, like adding strap clasps for acoustics, lowering bridges, etc.
i'm sure they would be able to find or make you a lefty-nut, lol
sorry sometimes i'm still in grade school.

if you need directions to the place just search on this site "nakwon".

I am referring to Nakwon. I always forget the name and it's not prominently displayed anywhere. My only word of warning is that the prices start high and, for some reason, stay high. I've talked to a Korean - real snotty Korean - and he said they hate foreigners there and would rather not do business with them unless they can rip them off. Who knows, that guy was a bit of an ass.

Also, the first guitar I got fixed up left-handed took a day to do but I got a custom made nut. The next took 30 minutes but all they did was turn a right-handed nut around. But that was included in the price of the guitar (I had just bought it there).

Depends on what you want. If you have no idea go with a price in mind. They'll probably give you a couple in the price range you ask for but then bust out with super-secret-awesome guitar that's way underpriced. Then have them come down at least another 50,000 from that. Depends on how good your haggling is and how much overhead is on the guitar you want.

Yesterday, I saw an awesome brand new Epiphone left-handed acoustic guitar with pick-up at Shindang Market. The guy only wants 100,000 won for it. It's easily worth 3 or 4 times that amount of money. Must have fell off of a truck or something.

It's Mr. Lee's shop.

Directions:

Go out Shindang station exit #1 and take a left. Take your first left up the tiny street and walk up about a kilometer. You'll see his guitar shop on the left. It's about 300 meters before you reach the Cheon gye cheon. Tell them I sent ya!
