|
|
I used to go to Tinpan in Hongdae and the music was decent. Now, the (fake) "DJ" has really made the place hit rock bottom.
After ~12 shots i was still unable to wake up the other night due to the Korean man's poor music selection. He pretends that he is DJing by listening into headphones but it's obvious that the idiot is just replaying a playlist on his computer.
He was putting me to sleep by constantly playing R. Kelly, Pussycat Dolls and Shakira. This man must be stopped before he ruins a place that used to be enjoyable.
As soon as i changed places my energy was renewed. I can't believe that the place was packed even with his crap music selection.
Are there any good foreigner drinking holes in Hongdae that i can replace this disgrace with? |

Many request music bars all over the place.
But Tin Pan seems to be the most popular teacher/military bar.. so if you like that scene in particular, choices might be limited. |

Where are a few of these request music bars? I only know of Tinpan 1 and 2. I'm also getting sick of the music at these two places. |

Just walk around a bit.. there are probably a good 20-30 of them in the HongDae area.
There are a good 4-5 on the road where many cars park in the medium. You could walk down either direction that way and there a few nearby. There are others near the railroad tracks going to Shinchon. They are scattered nearly everywhere.
I'd mention a few names, but unsure I'd want to see 50 hogwan teachers in each of them next weekend and forever into the future - as what happens whenever one is posted on here. But trust me, a little bit of walking around, and you'd see them all over the place.

club ff and gogo's are pretty good for requests. ff usually has live music until about 1ish, and after that it's all dj. gogo's isn't really a dancing place, but it's all request. you can hear a pretty wild mishmash of music there...

Try Studio 80s right across Club Tool. The place has a HUGE LP collection and the drinks aren't too pricey. I know there's an Old Rock there, but I wasn't impressed. I also hear Abbey Road takes requests, but I don't know for sure. |

I second Gogos. They play requests and the drinks are very cheap! |
