I bike, walk and hike a fair bit, so I enjoy listening to audio books and podcasts on my Mp3 player when I'm on the go.

What's your favourite audio book?
Which podcasts do you listen to?

Here are my favourite podcasts:

www.newscientist.com/home.ns
http://www.thenakedscientists.com/

Also, go to http://www.reitstoen.com/multimedia.php if you're into Pinker, Dawkins, Dennet & Co. Lot's of downloadable interviews and lectures.

Cheers

The BBC knock out some excellent radio programmes that you may enjoy and can download here.

Check out the Radio 4 programming schedule as they have some great stuff on there covering all sorts of things from science and technology, current affairs, movie reviews and comedy stuff. You may even be able to incorporate some into your lesson plans if you run your MP3 player through some speakers.

Go to:
www.kcrw.com/podcasts
There are sooooo many great shows on that radio station, I don't even know where to begin. Music shows are fab and for hilarity with politics check out Le Show w/ Harry Shearer.

Also, this guy I know Johnny has a pretty sweet podcast for the sensitive types~

True, KCRW rocks.

For KCRW mp3, go to Pop Drivel.

For music I generally go to the Hype Machine, an mp3 blog aggregator. Just type "KCRW" in the search and you should come up with a great number of recent broadcasts, which you can download in mp3 format.

Mixed or selected by some guy named Francois. Really essential listening if you like house or even just dance music. My fave podcast at the minute.

I am a runner and I listen to these podcasts:

Phedippidations by a guy named Steve Runner; and
Running from the Reaper by Nigel Staffordshire(?)

If you use iTunes, just do a search on the podcast section. Both of these podcasts are good for a long run or bike ride.

I listen to This American Life faithfully and when I'm looking for some new running music I listen to Podrunner.

I also like NPR's Story Corps. They've set up recording booths around the US and people and go in and tell their stories. Some real tear-jerkers on there...
