Someone told me yesterday he believes it's the law in Korea that, if you're on your second (or 3rd, 4th etc) contract with the same employer, that they must pay your annual bonus pro rata even if you don't finish the contract, i.e. 10 months worth of bonus for 10 months work. True that? |

No, not unless it is worded that way in your contract or you have a very nice boss. |

had contacts in the labor board, and yeah it's the law, but you know that in Korea, laws are basically. . suggestions at best |

I seem to remember something from quite some time ago. I think it went like this.
If you DO collect your bonus after your first contract, then you need to complete a year on the second contract to qualify for another bonus.
If you DO NOT collect your bonus after the first contract, then the second is pro-rated for the number of completed months in your contract.
Can someone who knows for sure deny, verify, or clarify that? |
