| It doesn't matter which side pumps more water, the fact is that Niagara isn't an exclusive Canadian wonder and thus should not be on the list-same as the northern lights. In my opinion, the national wonders of any single country should be exclusive to that country e.g. Grand Canyon. And to whomever said the Great Lakes... Well, that's pretty stupid too. I'm sure these things were put on the list just to ruffle some American feathers but keep in mind that I am 50% Canadian-I think. Well I don't have the maple leaf of my backpack-heck, I don't own a backpack, so that may make me less than 25% Canadian. Mom would be so proud! |

Why would anyone pick the Great Lakes? They're just big lakes.
I think we can at least agree Niagara Falls is 90% Canadian, not 50%. It would be simple enough to just nominate Horseshoe Falls for this thing, as Horseshoe is all ours. |

Muskoka, not Muskoka's. There is only one. Sorry for the rant, but Bracebridge is my hometown, and nothing sounds worse than when someone says "Muskoka's". Carry on. |

Finally!
I did see an iceberg once off the coast of St John's, in the Atlantic Ocean. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. |

Y'know... the Manitoba Legislature is on the list and not even getting a percentage. Now, I realize that there will be vast majority of Canadians who will have never seen this structure and it looks pretty innocuous from the outside, but really, I've worked in there for a short period and time and gotten a tour and frankly, I like it better than the federal parliament buildings. There's so much symbolism and the artistry is amazing. It seems to be impossible to find photos of the inside.
Also, the streets surrounding it as well as the Assaboine River in its backyard are really awesome.
You really should check it out if you're ever in the neighborhood.
Also, the intersection of Portage and Main is pretty wicked in the wintertime. |

Homesick, anybody? |
It's really hard to capture Peggy's Cove in a photo. It looks like...a rock. You really need to experience the smells and the sounds, and feel the violence of the ocean to really appreciate the place. |

Forget the time shorn features of the east coast, My vote is for the people from down east. I've traveled and lived all over but my little time spent there, really endears me to their genuine "Canadian" character -- civility, kindness, easy come/easy go, respect for all people of all strata, ilks....
God bless 'em.

Last I ate Bud the Spud back in '99, it was overly greasy and I thought it was going to come right back out again.
You know, this brought back a flood of memories about a lot of us not liking Tobin for some reason and always wondering why he kept getting art jobs.
But, I can't remember much beyond that. Maybe everyone was jealous because he kept getting art jobs... |
