Currently mine is blocking:

- Youtube
- Myspace
- The Guardian Newspaper
- Antiwar.com
- The San Fransico Chronicle
- A few links to controversial political stuff I've tried to use

Is anyone else's school this bad? The ironic part is that if I did a search for porn I'm sure I'd have no trouble finding all sorts of explicit stuff.

It comes and goes. At various times myspace, youtube, google, livejournal, and a few other things were blocked. As of today, the following sites are allowed: myspace, facebook, google, livejournal, youtube, and a few other social networking sites I could think of.

But, for some reason the store locator on the E-Mart homepage is blocked.

It has been a long time since I have worked at a public school, but when any word with "teen" in it got typed into Google (teenaged, sixteen, teenage mutant ninja turtles), the web nanny would block my search. I was like WTF?? I was looking for hip websites that appealed to American teenagers to show my high school students at the time what American kids their age were into for a lesson into American teenage culture.

For some reason, Women Who Love Horses is blocked. However, Field and Stream isn't. Go figure.

None...which is a good thing.

My co-teacher is currently using Youtube to find Public service announcements for his counseling sessions...Without youtube, I think he couldn't do his job and I wouldn't be able to kill time on Youtube Smile

I was just doing a google image search for pictures for my low-level class tomorrow. One of the words in the book is 'string'. I wasn't quite expected most of the pics that came up to be G-string photos.

But at least my precious, vulnerable students won't be corrupted by the Guardian on our school's computers!
