I loved how he was like "we're through!" But I'm a bit confused. I though the temp guy was only studying for his MBA... or even just his B.Comm. The uber boss said he had an MBA. Has the temp been some kind of plant all this time, studying the company for a research project? Or did he complete his MBA?

Dude, this isn't the Lost thread.

Oh, Jesus. Yes.

Say what you will about the Office, but last night's season finale was one of the best season finale's of any show ever....

I would definitely recommend this show. And for those of you who say, "The UK version is so much better..." well, I say you have to watch at least the first two seasons of the US version before saying that.

If you watch the US version thinking, "That's not how the characters were in the UK version," then of course you're going to complain about it. But if you just accept it as it's own show, and learn to appreciate the characters, well....I personally think this is one of the best shows on tv.

I guess you're not aware of this, but the first two seasons of the US Office are direct copies of the British version. Still, the US version carries on from where the brits left off, and it's a great, great show.

Err. No. And patently false. There are like, what, 12 eps of The Office UK and 34 eps of The Office US in the first two seasons. Assuming they directly copied 12 eps of the UK, they kinda had to come up with their own ideas.

For example "Office Olympics". Which Brit version was that copied from? Or "The Dundies"?

The only US episode that was a direct copy was the first one. There are some other elements that they translated though: Pub Night became Casino Night, etc.

I KNOW!! I must say, Jenna Fischer NAILED...just NAILED the last scene. Her reaction was PERFECT. She's a great actress. She does a lot with a character that does not have much of a personality (until now). I cannot say enough about that scene though...she executed it wonderfully...wow.

I haven't seen the last episode yet, but I have to agree that she is a fabulous actress. So much of her humor is in her facial expressions, especially when she's watching Michael talk to someone.

Oh yeah.

Didn't check the amount of episodes, I just knew there was two Brit seasons and that the US version copied it faithfully for a while, and then went off on their own.

I think the copying was only done during the first season. The second season was virtually all original material. I mean sure that "pub night" became "casino night" but really, those episodes are COMPLETELY dissimilar.

has anyone seen jenna fischer's movie "Lollilove"? The concept looks like it could be funny though the clips i've managed to see looked a bit dissapointing.

Best season three lines?
Michael's blind date advice to Pam:
"undo a button; let those things breathe"

upon seeing stains in their hotel room
Michael to Dwight:
I hope it's blood

Wrong again. The US version only copied the pilot "faithfully".. the rest are original..

Gervais has had his hand in a few eps, but other than that it's been unique.. great show.. next season they're apparently extending to hour-long eps..

nice-uh!

No *beep*? That's gutsy, but they can obviously handle it because they have pulled of several hour-longers recently without a hitch. But hour long sitcoms are rare. What others are there?

The Christmas special where Michael marked that waitress on the arm was particularly spectaculous.

Agreed, but what other 1-hour sitcoms are there, turkey-dood?

I don't think they're doing the whole season in hour long episodes.

What I have heard, though, is that they're extending to 30 episodes for the season (this season was 23, 24?) and there will be about 6 hour long episodes.

Sounds good to me!

The secret to comedy is timing and the bbc office had their timing spot on. They knew when to quit in order for the show to gain cult status, the exec's at NBC or whoever does the am. version are going to flog it till they jump the shark, that's why i respect and admire the bbc version a lot more than the american one. I saw the latest xmas party double episode and wasn't overly impressed.
