Does anyone know of a hogwan or public school that is looking for a Chinese teacher? My friend has one year experience and her English is very good. She is here in Seoul and is available for an interview. Any location is okay. However, I wish she could find a position in southern Gyeonggi-do. Thanks in advance for any help.

To clarify: She is looking for a position teaching Chinese language classes. She is Chinese so she definitely looks Asian. Sorry for the confusion.

Foreign language high schools.
A few other high schools - I know in Gyeonggi they hire Japanese and Chinese NETs as they do English ones, but just a few.

Well if you she could speak Korean fluently she could get hooked up.

The real money is in PRIVATE TUTORING.

My friend goes to Korea all the time to meet his girl... He never takes any money with him because he makes money while in Korea teaching Engrish....

You can easily make few hundred $$$ 2 hour private tutoring to rich GangNam kids if you were Korean of course or even pass for one.

this is an exageration if I ever saw one. First you have to spend the time to find the clients then you are probably very lucky to get 50,000 60,000 per hour.

Ekuboko, thanks for that information. I will look into it. Thanks to the other posters, too. She isn't expecting 50,000 won an hour.

There's a lot of Chinese hogwans around but I don't particularly know how to find the ones that are hireing as I don't speak Korean. Maybe there are advertisments on a Chinese site. If your friend has to, there is always the option of coming to Korea on a tourist visa and visiting the Chinese hogwans and networking with them.

Are you Korean? You make more money in private tutoring in Korea. Easily make more money than teaching at Hagwon.

What exaggeration when a friend of mine goes to Korea with only a plane ticket and comes back to the U.S with money in his pockets?
