Hi.

First post.

My girlfriend and I are applying to teach in Seoul via the footprints recruitment agency. We have been informed that our applications have been put on a waiting list whilst the schools interview people with actual teaching experience.

We are a little worried at this as we are due to move out of our rental accomodation in 6 weeks, and would have to commit to another 6 if we are not succesful in finding employment. Furthermore, to add to our stress we have to have a months notice at work.

Is there anything we could be doing to push our application along as my chaser emails make me feel a little pushy at times.

Could we find a job ourselves, and still live together in Seoul.

We would love a signed contract as soon as possible!!

Why dont you use more than one rectruiter and then you will have more jobs presented to you. Last year I had a job coming up everyday because I was working with so many recruiters. I worked with way to many though and the phone never stoped ringing. Some ppl will say work with only one while others reccomend working with many.

There are tonnes of jobs available, and lots of them are to be filled ASAP. I would send your info to another recruiter, and/or tell your recruiter if you don't have some offers in the next week that you will go with someone else.

In regards to other recruiters, can these be obtained from the Korean Job page found within this forum?

Is it merely a case of sending them our CVs and a brief covering letter explaining that we would like to live together etc etc?

This is all new to us as we believed that our TEFL company in the UK guaranteed employment.

Just go to the Korean Job page here on daves and you will see ads from at least 10 recruiters, send some of them your CV's and cover letter and they will arrange a time for a phone interview.

I used the recruiters who had advertised on Dave's and sent them my resume and then started to get job offers ... some of which did not match what I had said I wanted ... but it is easy to decide which jobs you want to look at further and which ones you want to reject ... I had the job I now have inside 2 weeks of starting to look ... and I was not looking for an ASAP job but for a job starting in early April - and none of the advertised job when I started looking had start dates later than early March ...
