That part with the ass-shakin at the beginning was pretty nice. It snagged my attention when I first saw that commercial on TV last night.
Anyone else find that the "Wave Dance" that's supposed to be sexy just looks stupid? So many girls on those variety shows bust out that move, and they look like they just stepped off the short bus. I just find nothing remotely hot about it at all. Looks like they're doing a vertical version of "The Worm." |

I love how they describe the dance as if they were doing a post-game recap:
Quote: |
The clip opens with Kim swaying her body to a music video on a Shine TV Phone. Then she starts moving her hips to the rhythm, and eventually breaks into a full dance sequence that spans the gamut from merely cute to downright sexy. LG says it's the first dance spot for Kim, who usually plays elegant and intellectual roles. |
She usually plays intellectual roles, huh? Guess that has limited appeal to the large portion of young Korean girls that aspire to become dancers and flight attendants.
Viral marketing at its best. Some people are too easily entertained. |

YEP, the only reason why this commercial is so popular because this isn't typical of Kim Tae Hee. She's known to be conservative and traditional. Her on screen character depicts intellectual and mature roles.
Frankly I dont see the hoopla....there are so many Korean pop stars who dances....wayyyy sexier (Chae Yeon, Hyori, etc)..Kim Tae Hee is beautiful...but she is seriously over rated. |

I tghink that its sexier than Chaeyon or Hyori for example. With them, its so over the top its a bit boring actually. How far would Hyori or Chaeyon have to go now to be racy? Naked? Kim taehee is sexy because a) this isnt over the top in your face soft core porn and b) because she has such a different image.
The Hyoris, Chaeyons, etc of Korean music are so generic, so like each other, and all trying to outdo each other as the latest sexbomb that its really not that appealing anymore. Sure, its fun but I get bored now watching their videos or performances after a minute. |

Is there anything really intellectual or mature about the cry-fest soap operas she stars in? Sure, she says plays a Harvard medical student, but show still espouses the same 13-year-old emotionality that all the other dramas do.
These image makeovers that Korean starlets go through are so rote and standardized that it's hard to believe they really surprise anybody. In a few years, they're all going to star together in the same theater act. It's called "Trophy Wife". |

I liked this one b/c it was sexy in an understated way. She had the wholesome look but in a new way that was nice to see. It wouldn't have worked for most of the pop "stars" b/c for them, the outfit and dance would've been less "sexy" than what they do on stage.
I saw this and thought, "wow, a nice commercial with a beautiful, not slutty-looking girl dancing."

I never made reference to her acting; the girl can't act. I'm simply saying KTH is known in Korea as the smart, educated gal...and not just because of her characters in Kdramas. She also attended some university in Seoul. I used to be a big fan despite her lack of talent...but then she got overexposed and became too over rated. |

Yes! I hate that dance. It's the female equivalent of a guy trying to make as big a bicep muscle as possible. Best done in front of the mirror, absolutely nowhere else. |

Yeah, i'm not disagreeing with you, kyc, i'm just disagreeing with the assessment in general.
I actually don't know much about her. She might be smart (she went to Seoul National, but I never saw her on campus), but she hasn't displayed that in anything I've seen. But I haven't seen much that she's been in. Has anybody seen her in something that you would describe as thoughtful or challenging? |

When a woman with real curves gets into it (see Akon's "I Wanna **** You") video for reference) there's nothing better.
K-gals trying to flaunt what little curves they have is like trying to drag race in a Miata. |

I highly doubt it. I was simply stating how Korean citizens view her. I just think she's beautiful...one of Korea's "natural" beauty. They praised her for being in that university, having a woman manager, etc etc. She also does a lot of charity work, but then again I question her motive. All of these "charity" events were heavily publicized Her brother is one nice piece of eye candy though |
