In three years I've never seen celery once, but I really want it for a few recipes. Anyone? |

We just found celery for 2,000 won at Homeplus. Celery seems to be catching on. I could only find it at costco. MMM I love celery. |

Celery in the stores here looks quite different from how it is packaged at home. It is quite tall and still has all the leaves on it (which kind of hides the stalk that you are looking for). Poke around a bit in any Homeplus/Emart/Megamart and you should see some. I think that its konglish, so you could always ask. |

Yeah the word for it in Korean is celery, same as English if I'm not mistaken. However, I wouldn't expect the average Korean, even store clerks, to know what it is if you try asking them. Just imagine a Korean dude walking up to a clerk in an American grocery store and asking for kimchi. Highly unlikely they'll know what it is.
I've purchased celery numerous times in Korea. I think it may have been at Homever, or perhaps the organic foods section of Emart. |
