For future reference guys, Britain actually refers to England, Scotland and Wales. The UK is Britain + Northern Ireland.
Damn pernickety Brits |

So for the poll's sake:
Is it:
British and Irish
or
UK Nationals and Irish?
(I'm guessing the first one, right?) |

The first one is probably better, but remember that the Irish (as in Eire) are definately not British, while a lot of people from Northern Ireland consider themselves very British.
But regardless, the first one is the most accurate description |

Where do you think I'm from ya bunch of genii?
And I'm SO bored with nationality, race, and culture talk. I guess that's why I'm on the verge of getting banned for introducing too many risque ( hardly ) innuendos on here.
For the record, I'm from Aotearoa, "land of the long white cloud", a pacific island of liberal free-thinking racially tolerant progressives who told the US "No Nukes!" and got away with it. Though I couldn't give a toss for promoting my country, or making comparisons. Great scenery and good weed though, and we love our dub and reggae. |
I actually don't mind when Canadians are self-promoting, and not in the tradition inferiority complex towards the USA kind of way. Canadians usually think its a good trait to be always be self-deprecating and apologetic when someone steps on your foot.
Its not.
Of course, the Canadian inferiority complex towards the USA is completely justified, given the Quebec Act and the BNA Act made Canada a "country". |

You my friend, are profoundly obscure, to the point of seeming really rather odd. Don't worry, it makes you seem more mysterious. |

Yeah, you have a problem with identity when it comes to the Northern Irish. On one end of the spectrum you have some protestants insisting they're more British than the Queen, while some members of the Catholic community would beat you to a pulp if you dared to suggest they might be considered in anyway British. And, as I understand it anyway, someone from Northern Ireland is entitled to hold both a British and an Irish passport if they so wish.
I would have listed all the nationalities seperately. It would be interesting to see if there were many Welsh among us for example. They seem to be a rarity here.
For the record I can choose 1 of 3 answers if someone asks me my nationality.
British
English
Australian
However I feel on the day. |

Depending on what religious and political side you come from in Ireland, there are two terms, "Northern Ireland" or "the North of Ireland" , go figure which one is which, I'm definately the latter. |

Well, the key question for me is never "What's your nationality?", but always "What's your personality?" |
