I know this is a stupid post, but I'm bored as hell on Buddha's B-Day. I thought that I was in a time warp when I came here. The things that Koreans wear and the styles that they so proudly walk around in remind me of how we dressed in the 1980's in America (a time that most of us try to forget). I brought this up to a couple of Korean girls back at that time, and it was almost as if they were offended. "Korea is one of the leading fashion capitals of the world" is what I heard from them. Alright..keep copying things from 25 years ago and claiming that you started it.
Oh yeah, my favorite thing is what I heard about a more recent company (FUBU gear) from more than one Korean. "It started in Korea." |

I concern myself more with MEN's fashion, and here's my take. Most suits do not fit the men properly AND the cuffs go down too low on slacks. Certain jacket-pants combos look really bizarre but worse is the pseudo-standard sizes Korean suits have.
Many Korean men also do not get their dress shoes shined, and Esquire says $400 pairs of shoes look like $40 pairs if not shined regularly. |

For the most part, I am talking about Korean men fashion. I live in Apgujeong, so maybe they are a bit more fancy here. |

| Yes, it is true. Korea is one o the leading fashion centers of the world, BUT behind Tokyo and Europe. Actually, those 80s fashions are back in style these days, pretty much everywhere. Yesterday, I saw an international website showing bubble dresses, and they are being sold here now, too. The leggings craze is also pretty much going on everywhere. I even saw an OnStyle Tv show about the comeback of 80s fashions, and 80s fashion icons, both Korean and American 80s icons. |

Those styles look just as bad now as they did then. Is this progressive fashion, or just a rip-off from a time that should be forgotten? |

| Fashion cycles all the time. I think bell-bottoms are the easiest to notice. In one decade they're in, then out, then in again. |

| I love the shiny silver suits. Planning to buy a couple soon. I agree with the sizes, but alterations are easy if you go to a good suit retailer. Arms are always too short for me. |

American suits are NOT horrible, just too conservative. Italian and English suits rule.
Korean suits seem to have a McSuit quality about them. You see one, you've seen them all. |
