Just hot off the heels of negoitiating my new contract... and I'll probably be hungover for another day.

I ended up walking up with 2.4/month, no severance unless I attract new students (which I've promised to do), a housing allowance of 300k, 30hrs/week (4-10), and all the usual frills of a plane ticket, etc.

However, because I'm leaving my current contract and turning down a bonus/plane ticket home (3.5+), I've managed to work out a deal where I will be getting 100% of all overtime worked. And, I'll be able to use the school's name to send out advertisements to attract morning work.

Even if I'm lazy and only pick up 5 classes at 3 o'clock, no Saturdays, or Sundays, then I'll be pulling in 3.4/month. With a little elbow grease I should be around 6.

Legal privates. Cool.

Oh, I almost forgot... they're going to finance a car for me.

It'll get real interesting when my current employer finds out, and tries to make a counter offer.

seriously....though I think i have the OP beat. My public school just bought a new Equis for me. They also reduced my teaching hours to 1 class a day. After I finish my class at 10am, they are letting me teach privates in the principals office all afternoon. They recently gave me a 55pyung apartment and outfitted the place with brand new furniture. My salary is still at 2.3, but with all the privates I should be able to get about 8

No severance unless you attract new students? That's illegal. Legal privates? You mean you're going to get immigration to modify your work visa?

Oh yeah. Well my hagwon bought me a new Jaguar and pay for the insurance. I teach half an hour a day from 1 to 1:30. All the other classes are OT at 100,000/hr at the immigration office. My base salary is 5 million, so I should be able to make close to 20,000,000/month.

I teach from 3pm to 3:10 pm two days a week for a base salary of 3.5 million, but I've also been given an entire row of apartment buildings, which I manage for an additional 15 million a month, plus 15% of all rent payments which brings my salary to about 100 million a month. Also, I've been given a driver and stretch limo so I don't have to take transit. My apartment is 300 pyong, and includes a brothel, sauna, soju factory and liquid chocolate swimming pool.

Why the negative attitude.

Perhaps if more of us posted our decent contracts (my new one - 2.3 mil plus OT, only 22 classes a week..) the majority of people would realise it's possible to negotiate a better deal and ask for more and raise the standards accross the board, rather than accepting 2 mil, too many working hours, little vacation time and all kinds of crappy clauses and penalties...

You had it good? I used to wake up a half hour before I went to bed, work 25 hours at the mill, and when I got home my parents would slice me in two with bread knives and dance on my grave singing hallelujah!

You guys are weak.

I'm getting paid 7,000 Galactic Credits per 30-minute session to tutor Xzlablarkian podlings in the Yorelian System.

And my school financed my ROCKET SHIP, dude. If I resign next year, they'll hook me up with a teleportation device, which should really cut down my commute.
