my director is a very rich and shady character. despite numerous attempts to convince him that we are paying too much tax (3.5% on 2.1), he has fobbed us off with BS excuses about an agreement he has with the government, and our higher tax being tied in with our health? ridiculous.
when we confronted him with facts from the national tax service he got quite nasty & ended up deducted allsorts from our next pay packet, i think as punishment.
anyway.... i have noticed amongst other posters that he/we should both be contributing to a pension scheme which we are not.
am i going to get stung on my departure? |

| Well then get to work on him. Stand up to him. Shout if you have to. If that doesn't work go to the pension, tax, health offices. Tell him that you're going to go to these offices and that you don't appreciate him cheating you. Call in sick one day. Say, "Listen you little fk. Don't push me around you fkn nazi." |

I had a rich and shady boss just like this one. The utility bills fluctuated greatly from month to month. Sometimes heat would go up to as high as 70,000.
He wasn't paying into medical or health either. The easiest way is to ask for your letter of release. If he refuses, threaten to report him.
Waging a war with an employee who has nothing to lose is ill advised for your rich boss. |

| Before you go after the pension, what country are you from? If you're North American you get it back, I'm not sure about other countries. As for getting him to pay, if he won't be reasonable report him to the pension office and have him investigated. He'll get fined and get mad, but you'll get your pension and he might stop screwing around once he knows you'll stand up to him. |

Don't take the screwing. If your boss shouts, shout him back.
Show the ass-hole some backbone. If you know he's cheating you, be prepared to report him to appropriate government agency and make threats. |

| If you are a NZer or australian you might want to keep quiet as you will not get the pension money back. take the small hit from your boss and save yourself from the bigger hit from the government. |

Not totally true for Australians ... From July 2008 Australians will be able to get their pension money back ... in the same way as Canadians and Americans can now ... And this is retrospective ... So even if we finish before July 2008 we will be able to get the pension money back in July 2008. This is a result of the Korean / Australian Social Security agreeement from earlier this year.

Horay for Aussies!
I guess it's time for all of you to demand pension from hagwon bosses (retroactively). |

I've dealt with a similar situation before, but what I don't seem to understand is why you're complaining about him not TAKING MONEY FROM YOU TO PUT INTO A PENSION YOU'LL NEVER USE....
If he's not making a deduction from your pay as a contribution, it means you already have the money; nothing to complain about.
I'd go after him on the healthcare issue, but again, if he offers to pay for anything that occurs, or pays for half, then that's a judgement call you'll have to make as to whether or not you want to push. |

| Because you get your half back along with his half when you leave the country. I don't remember the numbers, but I think his half should equal around 800,000 won or more for one year. |
