Well, in true LOST form.., some questions answered, even more posed...
Obviously the show is going to go in a whole new direction next season (true to form)... 'tis a damn shame that we'll probably have to wait until January to find out all the details..
And for all the flashback haters, I thought the pay off in this ep was brilliant... |

They also never said whose funeral Jack went to. Lots of things that were never tied up. |

Shot in the dark, but I'm going to say it was Ben's funeral. |

Anyone able to download episode 22 of season 3 yet? I can find it in several places when searching torrents, but it won't download. |

I don't know.. that seems to obvious.. and Jack seems to sorta care who it was...
What got me was the constant references to his father... which would have been fine if it was a flashback, but since it ended up being about the future, perhaps his dad is alive?
And who is this 'he' that Kate had to hurry back to?
And the temple?
Loads to think about over the next EIGHT months. |

Seems to me like an alternate timeline.
Jack's dad is alive. His body was never recovered from the plane crash. Don't you think with all the scavenging they did, that they would have found the casket?
Remember, Jack saw visions of his father on the island after the crash. And, the whispers? They are connected.
Did you see how old 'Walt' was? |

Brilliant episode. I was wrong about nearly everything except for Charlie dying. Glad of it, too--this is better than anything I could have predicted.
Why was (will be?) Jack's dad alive in the future, after he supposedly died? Impossible to say. Maybe he was delusional due to the drugs? Cracking up?
Who's funeral? Maybe Ben's. Yeah, definitely Ben's. No, I don't think Jack would care about him, as such. But he might be Jack's last chance to ever return to the island.
And yes, Walt seems to have aged 3 years or so over the course of however many days on the island...to be expected, really, as the actor is subject to the ravages of time, which are more noticeable in one so young. Puberty seems to have struck him--he's a lot bigger now and has a deeper voice. That was weird.
Interesting how the Losties were so much more savage with the others (Tom, Pryce et al) then vice versa. Couldn't believe the Others only fake killed the Losties. No such mercy/bluffing with the Losties. Sawyer seems to have freed himself from certain moral constraints. It was always emphasized in the past that Sawyer was "not a killer." I don't think that will hold true anymore. |

Agreed. So much better written. They must have contracted out.
*spoilers*
moments of bloody genius:
(1) "Because I love you." high impact surprise confession
(2) "You gonna help me tie him up?" first words between mom and daughter
(3) written on hand: Not Pennys boat
plus the best moments with Sawyer since the episode where they returned from the other smaller island:
(4)"Stay in the bus hero."
(5) "Okay I give up."... BANG!
The last scene of the season is disappointing, but perhaps apt. "We have to go back!" Pathos. |

It was John Locke's coffin. I'd bet a year's pay. |

I was thinking that too. Even Satan (Ben) has his followers.
But Judas? No one'd go to his funeral.
But Kate's hostility at the mere suggestion that she would have gone makes me think she has a personal grudge above and beyond any high treason Locke may commit later.
Would Jack go to kill himself upon reading a newspaper report of Locke's death? He has been much more emotionally invested in expressing anger and wanting vengeance against Ben.
Then again,... It could be woman in the coffin couldn't it? His last love Juliet whom he may have become estranged from. It'd better explain his suicidal thoughts and need to return to the island (to bring her back, the "box" metaphor, that lets the island resurrect people). |

I'll take that bet!!!
I'm guessing that it's someone we haven't even met yet...
That's just how Lost rolls... probably someone who plays a key part in their post-island lives... |

I would add to that list the lines, "She makes a good point"...BANG..."I am also following orders." |

Why did Charlie lock himself in the room? Desmond clearly had two scuba units to go. They could have got out of there no probs.
And the eye patch guy, as far as they knew he was dead once and came back to life. What made them think he'd not come back again. I would have put a couple kisses right in his head. |

Maybe something to do with Desmond's statement that if he didn't die, Claire wouldn't be saved? |
