I bought a guitar a few months ago. I don't know much about music other than enjoying listing to it.
I bought a computer program to learn. I can't seem to learn songs.
You can't teach an old dog new tricks. So I wrote my own.
Can you help with the music? I need help with the final two chords;
even the whole song. Thanks in advance!

GGG DDD AA DDD
Korea, Korea, I love Korea
GGG DDD AA D??
Korea, Korea, I love you so.
I meet new friends, have a fun day
I drink soju and then I pay.
Foreigner you look so fine
Do you mind if I cut in line?
Korea, Korea, I love Korea
Korea, Korea, I love you so.
I see beautiful girls walk by
All I can say is my oh my!
They badly want to talk to me
Can you teach me some Englishee?
Korea, Korea, I love Korea
Korea, Korea, I love you so.
Itaewons a beautiful place
If you like pink and white lace.
I want to go to Hooker Hill
Dont know if I can pay the bill.
Korea, Korea, I love Korea
Korea, Korea, I love you so.
Stopped by the boss to say good day,
Oh my God, he kept half my pay.
I think I should get out of here
OK, maybe another year.
Korea, Korea, I love Korea
Korea, Korea, I love you so.

it's a good start if you're just learning!
i think instead of G-D-A-D you can still keep it simple but make it more epic-sounding by alternating:
G-D-A-Bm
G-D-A-E
through the song, with a strumming count of 1,2,3; 1,2,3; 1,2,3; 1,2,3 for each chord.

If you live near Cheong-ju, I'd be happy to show you a thing or two on the guitar. (I broke down and bought guitar #6 last Saturday.)
I can't help with the chords you need; I'd have to hear the song, I guess. If you can, find someone to help you. Some rock stars say, "Yeah, you don't need lessons, blah, blah." I disagree. If you can take lessons for just a few months, you'll avoid bad habits. (I have a friend who's been playing for 10 years. He just started taking lessons now, and he has to unlearn his bad picking/strumming/bending/and overall playing habits.)
Best of luck! |

Hello, jstrain!
I have written the song the way I understand it.
I could be wrong.
I think the reason you're having trouble with the last few chords is
because the song is in the key of G, so you have to end with a G chord.
On the first two lines, I wrote the refrain with the chords which you gave.
On lines 3-4, I wrote the first stanza with the chords which you gave.
On the last two lines, I wrote the refrain ending on a G chord.
Robot suggested a B minor chord on the fourth measure,
and that's the way I wrote it on line 5.
He must have understood your song a little differently from me, though,
because I can't fit the rest of his chords in.
I would sing each stanza ending on D and sing each refrain ending on G.
But it's your song, do as you wish.

nice-uh tomato. very pro.
to clarify: i was saying to just loop those two parts:
G-D-A-Bm
G-D-A-E
through the whole song. keeps it simple as possible while keeping lullaby-ness to a minimum.

Jstrain, do you study Korean?
If you do, I have another present for you.
These Korean songs all use only two notes.
Here I have written them in the key of A,
so you can play them on the low E and A strings with no fingers.
To play in the key of D, do the same thing on the A and D strings.
To play in the key of G, do the same thing on the D and G strings.
To play in the key of E, do the same thing on the B and high E strings.
Do you teach elementary school kids?
If you do, try playing these songs before class and asking the early comers to sing along with you.
They'll love it.

Here are a couple more which I have forgotten:
I hope my translations are at least close:
Jam is a nonsense syllable.
The song is sung while opening and closing both hands.
I Don't Know What to Do is sung while putting a baby on its knees and moving the baby up and down.
Bura is also a nonsense syllable.
The song is sung while holding a baby up.
The first line of Barley Rice means "barley, barley, rice."
The second line means "barley, barley, barley."
Hold both hands out palms up.
Your opponent puts both hands palms down in your hands.
Sing either line as many times as you wish.
Your opponent tries to slap your hands if you sing the second line.
If you move your hands before your opponent can slap them,
you score a point.
If your opponent slaps your hands at the wrong time, you score a point.
Incidentally, the next-to-the-last note is supposed to read "보리."
There is a bug in my music software.
The words to Turtle mean "Let's play turtle. It's fun."
The game is played in a circle, but I can't figure out the directions.
The words to Beans mean "Let's have beans, let's have red beans."
The Soldier Game is some sort of game played with one group asking the questions and the other group answering.
The words are:
Where are the soldiers?
The soldiers are naked.
How many thousands are there?
There are many thousands.
What are their shoes like?
They are stone shoes.
What are their hats like?
They are stone hats.
What are their swords like?
They are stone swords.
Open the East Gate, stamp stamp stamp stamp stamp stamp.
