Why did Charlie lock himself in the room? Desmond clearly had two scuba units to go. They could have got out of there no probs. |
Easier said than done when a moonpool implodes. |

It's Sawyer's funeral, because:
1. It's someone that Jack was close to.
2. He assumed Kate would go to the funeral.
3. Kate was upset by the suggestion that she'd go to the funeral. Clearly a messy break up.
4. No one else came to the funeral. Even Locke had friends at the box company who'd probably show up.
My second best theory is that it's the polar bear's funeral. Apparently, he had a brief celebrity stint as a beer mascot after being rescued from the island. Unfortunately, he lost everything because of a nasty gambling/tuna fish addiction. |

I'll take that bet!!!
I'm guessing that it's someone we haven't even met yet...
That's just how Lost rolls... probably someone who plays a key part in their post-island lives... |
I reneg.
The reason i thought it was John, was because I froze the frame with the clipping, and saw the words "The body of Jo...."
Then today, i tried to find it on Lostpedia.
Oh the horror, the shock, the suprise...!
The date of the clipping was April 5th, 2007. They crashed on the island in Sept.2004.

The polar bear. Definitely the polar bear. It was his stage name. |

I'm not sure how I felt about this episode...
There weren't many answers given....and the whole "This may be the future, but it's a bad future, so they'll probably change this future" thing could backfire and kill off Lost.
I also don't think they should be following the 24 plan where they wait 8 months to show the next episode. 24 starts a brand new season each January, and you don't need to know what really happened the previous season, unlike Lost.
I still think they should just do 2 months on, 2 months off, 2 months on, 2 months off, 2 months on, 2 months off.....24 episodes...of course, Lost is only doing 16 episodes per season - which I think is cheap and unfair to the viewers. |

That too. He knew the vision show him drowning AFTER turning off the switch. So put on the bloody scuba gear. Weak writing. |

he may have felt like it was his destiny to die. im sure most people were questioning that.
Season 3 was extremely boring for almost the entire first half, but the writers redeemed themselves a little by making some pretty great episodes the last month |

The problem is that's how writers are supposed to think, not how characters are.
I think season 3, despite its problems, had a better finale than Heroes. They gave us some fairly satisfying scenes and deaths. |

Jacob was my guess. I think that the show will develop his character over the next season and bring the others and the losties together against the dharma people. Just a hunch. Could be wrong. |

Could be. It's shaping up to be a weak attempt at rasing some tension. "Ooh will Charlie/ Fonz really die? Oh, no. He's OK, but now I don't care".
My guess is that Charlie survives by swimming through the window. It still fulfills Desmond's vision and is a good reason why we never saw him actually dying or dead. Where's the drama in telling everyone you're going to kill off a character for three episodes? It needs a twist.
Charlie will live, and it will be lame. |

I've come to peace with the fact that the ADD/bipolar writers of the show have no means to patch up and fill in the swiss cheese-holed plot to any satisfying level within 3 years.

Nah, Charlie is dead. He'll just live on as flash-back fodder if anything...
Swiss-cheese plot? I'd like to give the writers a little more credit than that.. haters tend to be the impatient bunch... I'm still of the belief that the payoff of this show wil be great, it's just too bad it'll take until 2010 to achieve that payoff...
Patience people, patience... |
