How much time is appropriate for an employer to give notice about an upcoming vacation? My contract says one week in summer one in winter. I've asked about it, and i got two responses: "We're not sure yet" or "Maybe in two weeks when this program ends."
The latter seems like a crap deal - how can I possibly find a decent flight somewhere out of Korea within two weeks notice? |

Why don't you just go book a flight and tell your boss that you'll take vacation from XXX to XXXX?
If he doesn't like it, tell him to go find him another teacher. |

Make a note this weekend stating that you will be taking from such and such off. You will be booking the flight on Friday (next) and if there is a problem to tell you before that date. Give this to your V-P or boss. And then on Friday book it.
Ya, you have to get on the ball because on July 17th to 21st, the prices almost double and in some case more because 99.9% of all the public elementary, middle and high schools finish at that time.
Tell them unless they are willing to pay the difference, you will be going on the date you want. Good luck and let us know how it went. |
