Hey guys,
I wanted to know if you absolutely needed your college diploma to get your work visa or if you could use your official transcript that says you've graduated instead. My school takes 30 days to mail out the diplomas which sucks. Does it really take 3 weeks to get your visa? Thanks for your help? |

To get the E2 you do definitely need the diploma OR a notorised copy of it. If you already have one - you can get it notorised to use it. It is a pain but it is necessary - It cost me $75 to replace one which I had lost track of - And never worried about because normally the transcript which says I have been awarded the degree was enough... But that is the rules - so that is what we do ...
There are 2 stages to the visa process - part 1 in Korea is getting the Visa Issurance number and then once you have that number applying for the visa in your own country - In most cases you would have your visa in around the 3 weeks - just depends on what the workloads are like when you apply - It was around 7-10 days to get the number and then around 3-5 to get the actual visa for me in Australia when I applied in Feb/March this year

Immigration will DENY any/all applications that do NOT have a Korean Embassy certified copy of or the original degee AND an official, sealed, university transcript.
