first getting a whiskey buzz at my apartment. the maniacal taxi ride from gangnam to itaewon is a hell of a lot more fun with the snake running through the veins.

Having a good time.

Itaewon is a friggin blast. Again, I ask to the people looking down on it, what utopia did you come from? Where I'm from, there were loudmouths and jerks everywhere you went and it was just a part of life. I don't walk around with my hands shoved in my pockets, complaining about the plebeians and their vulgar habits.. jeez, I just do what I want and try to stay out of too much trouble.

I have a good time too! The people watching is worth the trip. Never ever go at night but weekend days are fun. Yesterday great example of a tee shirt I saw it said I (heart) d i c k. A Korean couple were wearing these shirts...it's nice to have a hobby you can share eh?

Saw a young man. Couldn't have been military as his hair was too long and too many piercings visible. His jeans were trashed and I do mean trashed. Big holes, you could see the pockets from the front. Shredded oh so fashionably. Clean cut looking otherwise. But the jeans were more holes than jeans.

I am not grumpy or cranky or think I am better. I am just relieved I don't worry about "looking cool". I do like watching the younger people and their "coolness". Hey, I was that in the eighties. Oh dear gawd the horror that was!

Favorite sightings in Itaewon yesterday: Tee shirt on a rack that says "372 days that change your life. Dave Grohl and Courtney Love. Gganster stley. Love is amiable and young." WTF does that mean? and the spelling is theirs I took a picture with my phone so I could remember the verbiage.

Very nice looking young lady with 50 pounds of black eyeliner...dyed black hair. Big ol' platform bully boots (up to the knees), black arm gloves (half fingers) that laced up to the elbows and pretty floral spring dresses. (made me nostalgic for my punk days)

K-girl: shorts (cargo style) knee socks, tee shirt and the topper very glittery high heels...like for a prom.

The shorts, knee socks and high heels must be stopped. (unless you are a hooker because fashion rules do not apply to hookers) The shorts and knee socks...okay I can sort of see that my sister wore that in the 70's but high heels, no, no, no.

Sadly I see that leggings have made a huge comeback. I thought they had been relegated to the back of the closet or at least to the trailer park. (don't be offended you know what I mean.) Leggings with big empire waisted shirts that, unless you weigh 90 lbs and have no, ahem, chest what so ever, make you look pregnant.

And I am sure the guys are happy the skirts are so so short...good gawd it is a gynolcologists dream out there. How the hell do they sit? If they drop something...FREE SHOW. But I suppose if I had the legs for it I might wear them too. But damn...they worry about whether their shoulder is peeking through but their "lady parts" are visible to most of the free world.

It was a fun day except the DVD guys in front of the hot dog place have been run off. Damn laws anyway. Laughing Laughing

Jade kickin it old school. (old key word)

...without memories come rushing back of what it was like 13 years years ago.

-only soldiers and Koreans.
-more fights, fewer bars (King Club is the only one I recognize, but I coulda swore it changed locations. Then again every city with a U.S. military camp probably had a "King Club". I did in Chuncheon.)
-adjumas or "mama-sans" would walk up and down hooker hill pimp'n out their girls
-the local police would take bribes of bottles of whiskey in order for some of the smaller, hole-inna-wall bars to stay open later.
-spent my last night in Korea there as a young soldier and feel'n down 'cause I actually liked Korea. I somehow managed to stumble back to Yongsan to make my early morning flight back States side. How? I have NO idea and swore to every deity that ever exsisted that I would never take another flight hung-over...
