|
|
Someone recently posted a best foreign bar in Korea thread but I was curious on how many foreign-owned bars are in Korea...and where are they?
I know of a few in Seoul
Itaewon
Three Alley's Pub (behind the Hamilton)
Rocky Mountain Tavern (on the edge of Itaewon)
Mok-Dong
Beer-O'clock (next to Omokyo station/ Hyundai dept. store)
in Daegu
the Thunderbird
what else do you know? |

B1 and Queen are both co-owned by a Canadian guy. B1 rocks, by the way. Great crowd (not your average draft beer/tequila shot guzzling roughnecks) on Saturday nights. |

There are two different things I would consider western bars here. One mostly has Korean clientele and sells expensive cocktails in a fairly dull atmosphere, like Ho Bar or Wabar. The other is sleazy bars with mostly foreigners and expensive drinks where fights are common and everyone wants to get laid. Are we talking about the latter? |

I disagree. I think it could be any of three things: a bar owned by a foeigner (the bar in the hilton counts then right?); a bar modelled after a foreign bar (wa bar); or a bar that foreigners frequent regularly (Pirate Bar in Sanbon).
Anyways, I'll add "Canada Buddy" in Bucheon....nice name...(snicker snicker). |

Don't you think the OP is correct? It's their thread. |

B1 is right next to the Hamilton Hotel. It's actually the old J Bar, but the new owners gutted it and really did a number on the joint. Queen is up on the "other" hill...
