It cites the case of a Korean woman identified as Kim who says she met an English instructor from Australia at a friend�s birthday party. Kim went out with him for several months. When she broke up with him, the Australian sent her an e-mail in February saying he had had sex with two prostitutes in the Philippines without using condoms in 2006 and Kim had been his next date. He said he was so afraid that he could not tell her about it, and had not had an HIV test. The instructor said Kim �deserved� to get AIDS considering what she did to him.
The KFTRA has added the instructor to a blacklist of 68 foreign instructors accused of sexual harassment and contract breaches. The association told institutes not to hire the Australian.
In an earlier case, an American instructor who worked in a high school in Yongin made headlines when he was fired for teaching students how to smoke marihuana and said Japanese women �are the best.�

His fault for saying it but I think a little harsh. If he thought he did then he should have gotten tested and after the results let her know if he was positive. If he was negative then he should�ve just walked away. Now about the 68 foreigners that are blacklisted due to sexual harassment is questionable. Who knows if that was brought against some just to get rid of them. You never know!!! |

And emails can never be forged, mocked up or altered? I'm just sick of the fact that the mere insinuation of impropriety by a local here against someone who isn't part of the minjok can result in all manner of crap for the alleged guilty party. |

Hmmm...that sounds like a good drink, come to think of it...maybe that pine drink they have here, mixed with absinthe? yeah, that'd be a mean one.

Yes, he is a scumbag. If it's true then a woodchipper would be too kind for him.
There are other scumbags in the article too. Thanks to the wonderful xenophobic Korean garbage displayed here they seem to imly that 2,000 to 3,000 teachers are fired every year for sexual depravity or the somewhat unrelated refusal to teach classes. Par for the course here. 
I am a bit curious though. Naturally the Korean newspaper jumped at the chance to print an E-mail sent that demonized foreign English teachers. Did they bother to get both sides of the story? Is perhaps this story fake? |

When will Korean newspapers learn to get their numbers right? Come on!!!! 10% of teachers fired for sexual misconduct??? Is that yearly? Since teachers come and go so quickly, how can they even put a number on it without a time constraint. Just atrocious reporting.
I think its obvious that the jilted boyfriend was just trying to put a revenge scare into the girl... |

| That blacklist is a joke. My GF and I made it on there because we were getting the run around with a recruiter so we bailed out of the job. They then put us on that blacklist. It doesn't stop anyone from getting jobs here. |

The guy's a scumbag, no doubt, but what does this have to do with the hagwon association? What does a domestic dispute between a boyfriend/girlfriend have to do with them? It's hilarious. If some Korean dude was beating the shit out of his girlfriend out in front of their hagwons, they'd do absolutely jack-all. However, because an English teacher and his girlfriend got in a pissing match through email with each other, they suddenly become the valiant knights-of-armour protecting the Korean public from the scumbag English teacher.

LOL you know as well as all of us Hagwons have power over all! SO don't question why have something to do with this guy�s girlfriend but ask if they are watching when you go to the bathroom and how many times a day you go! But as I said Hagwons have power over all!!!!!!!!!  |
