Vancouver is the world's best place to live, a survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has found.
The EIU ranked 127 cities in terms of personal risk, infrastructure and the availability of goods and services.
All the cities that fell into the top "liveability" bracket were based in Canada, Australia and Western Europe.
The worst places were Algiers in Algeria, and Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea because "many aspects of daily life present challenges", the EIU said.
Safe havens?
Canadian cities scored well, as did Austria's Vienna and Switzerland's Geneva, because they are not seen as targets for terror attacks. |

You sure it belongs in current events.

Vancouver is certainly one of the loveliest of the bigger cities in the world and geographically blessed, of course. But I don't think it's just for not being a terrorist target. Consider the demographics too.

Not surprised you like Vienna as it's close to the hometown of your beloved you-know-who. |

A new one of these surveys comes out every few months. Van is a great city, but I don't know if it is the best. Maybe in 2005.... |

It looked familiar but it showed up on the BBC website today. I just thought I'd throw it out to the ravenous "We-hate-Canada-cause-my-country-is-run-by-a-moron" crowd who love to attack me.
Enjoy. |

I don't hate Canada. Actually wouldn't mind living there away from all the gun nuts and WWF wackos in America.
Then you and I could have a nice sit down chat over coffee in a cafe about literature before the jinjus and EFLTs of the world reach critical mass and deprive us of all but comic books. |

In a manner of speaking, yes. But I'm implying that he's a fascist masquerading as a guardian of the bastion of democracy.
The Far Left and Far Right are no different, really. Both have fascist tendencies. |

Wel Steve, atleast you make no such pretentions. Openly defending anti-democratic Chinese policies vis a vis Taiwan strips you of any right to call yourself pro-democratic. Was the indoctrination so strong Steve that you lost sight of what is right and wrong? All Hail mao, eh Steve-o?
I didnt know Mozart was a fascist. |
