I'm thinking about renewing my public school contract, however, I want to move up a different school. I want to stay in the same area though.
How do I do this? Do I go around to prospective schools myself and apply? Do I go through GEPIK/EPIK?
I'm at an elementary school now and I want to teach at a middle school level. Do I just go around to middle schools and say "Hey, do you have a native teacher? Do you want one?"
And finally, whats the contract procedure like? Will I be "renewing" or is it gonna be a new hire since its a different school? |

| According to the MOE guidelines, you are able to transfer between schools once you have completed your contract. Obviously your school would prefer that you stayed with them, but they are often kind about allowing a transfer...The best thing is to speak with the person in your school that can put you in touch with another school. If they work together it is better than going behind their back, because they perceive this as being something you are trying to hide...I always keep my school in the loop on things involving my work with another public school for any reason...The other public schools are generally clueless about the options available to foreign instructors... |
