I didn't read all the posts on that thread because some were long winded.

I don't think it's fair to compare a CPR course to an EMT course, an ACLS course or medical school.

(If I were having a heart attack I would rather have someone who just completed CPR training than the average doctor.)

It seemed like some of those people were bashing the short teaching courses because they weren't MA degrees. That's not really fair. Different kinds of courses for different purposes means more people with more training overall.

The thread got locked over there, as the gloves had come off between a couple of posters.

As far as I know, the sponsor's still offering the course, but that may change if there aren't enough interested teachers.
