I like it here and hope to be here a little longer than just 20 more years.

So you're living for your seventies and eighties. Alright.

Of course, alternatively, one could have it all. Some do have really long lives while indulging without worrying about the future. They have the best of both worlds.

It's all down hill from here.

Drink less.

Eliminate sugar as much as possible.

Lower your Cholesteral.

Try to exercise past the arthritis pain.

Puck the white hairs from your eyebrows weekly at first then daily.

Moisturize in the morning, afternoon and evening.

Take your meds on-time.

Find your ideal weight, set a target weight somewhere lower than your present weight and as close to your ideal weight as is possible, then settle for five pounds less than your heaviest.

I plan on living through my seventies and eighties and probably well into my nineties - people in my family are long-lived.

My physiology professor put it this way: everyone has a finite amount of "health wealth." Most people squander it when they're young and don't have enough left for when they're old and need it. To me it's the same as financially planning for the future. I don't spend every penny, I invest and save for the future, too.

Some people have pointed out that sunscreen may actually cause skin cancer. Don't know if that is accurate or not, but do be aware of the possibility.

I'm not buying it. The idea may come from the PABA that was used in older sunscreens and caused an alergic reaction in some people but definately not cancer.

Another source of the confusion may be recent news reports on vitamin D. Vitamin D is added to milk to help with the use of calcium. Vitamin D is also produced by the skin when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. Vitamin D is an antioxidant and may help fight against cancer in general but not skin cancer specifically. One might infer that sunscrean decreases Vitamin D production and therefore increases one's cancer risk, however very little UV radiation is needed to make a very large amount of vitamin D. If you are in the sun long enough to need sun screen the you are probably making more than enough vitamin D. Also, the news reports were based on one single study while the evidence that sunsreen prevents skin cancer is overwhelming.
