you can buy sauerkraut, rye bread, and corned beef at most import food shops around itaewon.. swiss cheese or emmental is available at almost all large supermarkets (emart etc.)

i'd be surprised if there was even a single place in all of seoul where you can order a rueben. but pleasantly so, of course.

Bennigan's restaurant also has reubens (or at least they used to) but with the collosal Monte Cristo, why bother...

How much is the Monte Cristo at Bennigan's?

Is there a Bennigan's in Masan or Changwon?

The sandwich is a little expensive but well worth it as it's delicious. I ate it and didn't eat again for 24 hours-it's that filling. Here's the link:

Dude that Bennigan's Monte Cristo is sketchy. Didn't eat for 24 hours? Probably because it clogged your colon. Gross.

I believe it's banishment to the nether regions of chain restaurant purgatory, there to languish in despair until someone in this country figures out how to make REAL RYE BREAD!

What is laughably called 'Rye bread' here is nothing but dreck.

And, before the negativity brigade saddle up their high horses and sally forth to attack my opinion, I am talking about real dark RYE, not Pumpernickel, which, surprisingly, you can actually get here...

Bennigans sucks. No wonder why it's not popular in America.

No worries. I won't be roundin' up the posse and ridin' to the sound of the gun this time. It's been frustratingly hard to find edible rye bread of any kind outside of the 5-star deluxe waegook-managed hotels. Until last Thursday, anyway.

What's the fine for eating a Reuben sandwich without the meat?

And who's Reuben?

it's a bit pricey (though i don't remember the cost exactly, it's somewhere around 14,000 won), but the lobby restaurant at the marriott in kangnam makes a mean reuben. plus they have a really good complimentary bread/dip tray.
