Has anyone worked in Taiwan before? How does the cost of living : Pay ratio compare to what we have here in Korea? I know the average monthly pay there is about 2000$US per month but generally there's no accomodation provided and you dont get air ticket, severance, pension, etc. What about prices? I've heard both that is alot cheaper and just as expensive. |

Depends where you're living. Taipei is expensive and accommodation is not really paid for. Expect to pay around 2 months deposit and have to furnish the place. Sharing is a lot more common there than here. You won't get severance but some schools will give you a yearly bonus. Check out http://www.tealit.com/ The visa system is lot better since you can cancel it when ever you want, although you would have to do a visa run to Japan. It's a small island too so you travel around fairly easily(once you learn to read Chinese names). Nicer mountains than Korea, nice beaches down south, hot springs, tea houses, mini skirts, blah blah blah |
