Well, this explains the reports of American military building bases that look like they are intended to last 30 or more years ...
Bush sees South Korea model for Iraq
Quote: |
WASHINGTON - President Bush envisions a long-term U.S. troop presence in Iraq similar to the one in South Korea where American forces have helped keep an uneasy peace for more than 50 years, the White House said Wednesday |
The good news is this troupe of bozos are gonna be ushered off the stage in a little under 2 years ... scary to think how much more damage they can do my country before the expiration date on their milk carton arrives, though.
About 599 days left, I think. Like I said, scary ...

I just laugh at this one....
1)Two totally different countries
2)Two totally different wars
3)Two totally different historical circumstances (regarding why the U.S. went to war in the aforesaid countries)
4)Two totally different native populations (South Korea wanted U.S. troops...Iraq wants nothing to do with them)
It's funny that Bush would even suggest such a permanent residence for the American miliary in Iraq, modeled after South Korea....
Just another sign of his intelligence (lack thereof) and ignorance.... |

Yeah, right Mr. Bush.
The difference is that in Seoul, there aren't any locals who are intentionally trying (and occassionally succeeding) in killing any American soldier they happen to see. |

Probably not many in Iraq, either. |

The war against Bathism , Khomenism and Al Qaedism is in fact like the cold war. |

Why go to war with people who practice taking a Bath? Sure, showering is probably more beneficial, but there are some times when you just can't beat a good soak in the Bath. If my new APT doesn't come with a Bath, I'll be most upset.... |

No its not. Fighting an invisible force who uses asymmetric warfare against a superpower is nothing like the buildup of military capabilities between superpowers and fighting of conventional wars by proxy. |

Um, I think you wanted to say "meant " ...
Joo Rip is well-known for his dyslexic spelling, ancient history ... um, not that there's anything BAD about having a literacy disability. We're all teachers here, and we're willing to help. I feel your pain, dude.
There's another thread on the topic that predates mine by a few hours. We all need to decide which one we're gonna talk on ...
I'm cool, either way.
(Damn, I had to edit this for a typo, after teasing others about vocabulary. Bad Bobster! Bad bad Bobster!!) |

Bathists Khomenists and Al Qaedists teach hate , incite violence and plan terror - as a tactic of war.
IF they are hit hard enough then they won't do it.
See how mideast regimes have kept them down anyone who threatens them. So will it to be too if enough force is used. |

In spite of all that I am pretty sure that many would admit I manage to hold my own in most arguments/ debates , perhaps even a little better than that.
Anyway its seems now posters are backing away from the topic now, which I guess is okay. |

If you mean "Endlessly repeating the same position over and over again no matter how badly discredited it becomes as time goes on."... Then yes, you manage to handle yourself quite nicely |

Well if you can refute what I say then go right ahead.
Anyway what has been discredited?
Did Saddam give up his war? Was the UN on Saddam's payroll? Was anyone other than the US and Britain actively containing Saddam? Has Iran been engaged in a low level war against the US?. |
