Yes, you can get one there. I've done it many times. You can only get a single re-entry visa, not a multiple. It costs 30,000won.
I believe immigration opens at 6:30 or 7:00am.

You can get a single re-entry permit.
You need your ARC and your passport.
The cost is 30,000 won.
The hours are 6:30am - 10:00pm.
They are located in a hallway along the back wall behind the checkin counters "row - F".
Allow yourself 15-30 minutes for processing.
You need to get it done BEFORE you check in at the airline counter. |

When I got my re-entry visa at the airport , the officer handed back my passport and told me I had 9 days to return to Korea. Has anyone been told this before? what if I had a two week vacation? This can't be right. |

Sorry! I am not hijacking the thread but my question is related so thought it best to ask here. During my next contract I want to leave South Korea at least twice. I am in Canada now but headed to the ROK soon. Where/when do I get my multiple entry visa?
Thanks!

From Canada, as far as I know, you can only get a single-entry visa. Once you are in Korea, go to the Immigration office and get the multiple-entry visa done there. |

Do it at the SAME time you apply for your ARC.
When you apply for your ARC, at the top of the SAME application form tick the box that says re-entry permit.
10k for the ARC, 50k more for the multi-re-entry permit. 60k won total. No additional documents are needed beyond those required to get your ARC. |

I just want to add something about what ttompatz wrote. You may do it at the same time, but it is not necessary. The way ttompatz wrote, it almost seems like you have to do it at the same time, but you don't. Of course, if you already know for sure you will leave Korea at least twice, then you'd save yourself a lot of time by just getting the multiple-entry visa at the same time as your ARC, but you don't have to do it at the same time. |
