Bad experience today.
1) My (3kg) dog ran up to a little girl.
2) Little girl screams.
3) Dog gets scared, barks.
4) Mother stands in front of girl and screams too.
5) Dog barks much more.
6) Father FREAKS OUT, comes over (screaming) and tried to kick my dog. He missed luckily, but that kick would have really damaged if not killed my dog, it was horrible.
7) I screamed at the man, "HEY NOOOOOOO"
Finally, I grab dog, start walking away with father yelling behind me all sorts of obscenities...........
This would never happen back home. I don't remember people even being scared of large dogs.
And almost daily, people freak out at my dog. Grown men freak out and one even cried.
Sigh....
And I know why, I mean, they haven't had experience with pets, or grown up on farms with animals bla bla bla, but still...I never had experience with horses, lamas or crocs and I'm not scared of them |

I'm not sure which is more shameful, being scared of a 3 kg dog or owning a 3 kg dog |

Take a stroll across the Commons in Halifax, Nova Scotia any day of the week and try to negotiate any path of least resistance through the dogs and owners who think dogs in public should not be on a well heeled leash. |

I'm American and I'm terrified of pit bulls. I absolutely would never own one. The same goes for Rotweilers and Dobermans. Man's best friend my ass! |

I would have kicked your dog too! It's your responsibility to keep your dog under control. Just being on a leash is not enough if you don't control it. |

Hmm.
The kid screamed first: it's also the parents responsibility to keep their KIDS under control |

I look at thread titles first and then maybe glance at the author's name or not. Sometimes you can almost predict who the author is from the title. And I speculated from this title that it was launched by Dev. But it wasn't. |

Now if the kid ran up to you or the dog and started humping it I would agree with you. |
