|
|
Hi all. I am sure this has been asked in the past, but after doing a search and going through 3 pages of results, I couldn't find the answer. Apologies if I was simply too dense to find it.
What exactly are the sealed transcript requirements? I ordered mine from my university and told them it needed to be affixed with the university seal across the back, signed, and dated. When my transcripts arrived in the mail, they came in envelopes with the university logo on the front and were signed across the envelope seal on the back. However, there is no date or university seal.
Do these transcripts meet Korean immi standards or do I need to go back to my university and get them to do it again?
Thanks in advance for the help. |

This is a bridge that I've also yet to cross, but will have to in a couple of weeks. I was under the impression that you could do what you did i.e. get your university to stamp, seal and date your transcripts so as to confirm their authenticity before sending them off.
If it turns out that this is not an acceptable way to confirm the originality of your uni transcripts then (as far as I'm aware) you'll need to go to your nearest Korean embassy and get them to notarize them for you, which you'll have to pay for. The process of notarization is, I believe, just another name for authenticating documents and so forth.
I posted a similar thread a couple of weeks ago, but for some reason it was removed, I guess because I may have been conveying incorrect and misleading information. Apologies in advance if this post is incorrect. It's not my intention to knowingly mislead people. |

Nexus11, your transcripts should be OK. Don't open them. They must be opened by Immigration.
BS.Dos, sorry, but the Korean Embassy cannot certify your transcripts for you. They can only make certified photocopies of your diploma. |

Thanks for the answer. I'm glad I don't have to take this issue to my university. I ordered 5 copies of my transcripts and it would've sucked if they were all useless. |
