It seems like the Dave's "controllers" are hyper-sensitive. If people don't like a thread, they are welcome to not read it. It's one thing to delete a post suggesting that people do something illegal, it's quite another to delete posts that are controversial, but otherwise legal.

God forbid that we offend someone on Daves.

I had some fruit loop sending me weird annoying PMs and posted it here today, to find out he/she was doing it to many people, and it has now vanished. Said person did say in another thread that they were an ex-mod so that may something to do with it.

I can think of nothing that would generate unwarranted complaints more than a gyopo posting what his co-workers are actually saying about FTs. That must drive the moronic brand of gyopo and hangooks with a denial complex who can read English crazy.

Well heck, let's just get the thread restarted right here and now! Yep, they talk smack about us behind our backs. My Korean comprehension is like high-beginner, but I heard em telling a girl student at my middle school not to wear her dress too high only on the day I am to go there. The Principal at one school was telling the other k teachers that I and most waegooks are lazy. He said I wouldnt be able to make it on the hike. The teachers sometimes say something about how Im not very friendly or (confusing?) because I dont greet them the right way.

I was saying in that thread that the more I understand, the LESS I want to learn Korean because knowing what they say just makes me dislike them even more and desire not to be associated with them in any way -- including language.

The best thing is just to not learn Korean, go to work, do your job well, be immune to the bs they are saying, collect your money and increase your savings, and dont worry about it.

Amen.

Great idea - let's restart indeed, with me stating again by refuting that and saying how I've never heard of any negative rumours at my school except some about me having an affair with a younger teacher when I first started working there. I'm sure the male teachers who've been to the room salon with me know where my sexual proclivities lie, and I've never once heard any sort of insinuations like what the deleted OP's thread mentioned. If anything I feel I get far too much credit from my co-workers just for being here.

OK, duly noted. Now we just need the other posters to come back....

Oh, I remember something else. It varies from school to school depending on size and whether or not its in the countryside. The smaller schools might be better... and countryside schools might be better or worse depending on thier past experiences with FTs. Some of my schools generally look up FTs better (and therefore might talk less smack) if the parents are putting alot of pressure on the principal to keep the FT since those parents cant send the kids to hakwon.

Also, I mean, alot of it depends on your age, personality, and gender. I reckon young white women FTs who are introverted are alot more likely to get it than extroverted older men Fts..

I was the one who created the thread: "Public School Hatred of Foreign Teachers."

I don't know why the thread has been removed. Was there something wrong with my thread?

Here's what said in that thread:

I am a gyopo and have been working for a public school since March.

I do speak, read, and write Korean. However, under advisement of other experienced gyopos, I pretend that I don't speak Korean.

My students treat me like a rock star. If I didn't speak the Korean language, I'd think that Korean teachers are treating me well. Korean teachers often talk about me and other foreign teachers at other schools in the district where they just started to hire FTs this school year.

Ever since I started to work at this PS, I've realized how xenophobic Koreans are. They virtually link every bad behavior or BS to FTs as if they don't do anything bad.

They are always saying how FTs are losers and pedophilias. They also consistently say that it is abnormal for FTs to want to come to Korea and teach. They talk about me and other FTs this way not knowing that I fully understand what they are saying.

In short, I am highly disappointed at Korean teachers. I have no respect for them. I am ashamed to say that I'm Korean-American.

And I agree with whoever posted that the OP should save it all up till the last day and then shower the Korean teachers with a stream of perfectly fluent Korean vitriol, saying that everything has been understood the entire time. I think that would be classic!
