Probably someone said something a little too telling and someone responded with 'offensive' remarks and so the mods decided to remove the whole thing just to remind us of why we're so happy to have moved away from all the PC losers back home.

I didn't see the thread but it seems disappointing that it was removed. I think more people need to know that many people may appear friendly towards them yet are talking about in Korean at the same time. I'm by no means fluent in Korean, or anywhere near close for that matter, but not a day goes by when I don't hear someone (student, co-worker, stranger) talk trash me assuming I would understand.

I am the one who created the thread: "Public School Hatred of Foreign Teachers." I think I require explanation from the OP.

Growing up - I got used to my parents talking about me in Korean ... in front of me. My friggin' parents!

I think it's something 'genuinely' characteristically "Korean".

Not much to explain. Just wondering why the thread was deleted. I doubt you even had anything to do with it.

Naaa...that's not a Korean thing. My parents used to switch to German when they wanted to discuss me without my understanding them. My co-workers and I use elaborate sentences and difficult words when we want to discuss one of our students and other students are around. I think it's normal to use a different language or even a "secret code" to talk about people when they are around so that they cannot understand you.
