Looks like a good rig.
Quad-core compatibility is nice to have. I would imagine that in about 2 years when you feel like upgrading you could get a really fast, although slightly older, quad-core chip for a great price.
Let me know if you feel that HDD is noisy. My 250GB Seagate 7200 is the noisiest HDD I've ever used.
I'd be interested to see the 3Dmark06 score for that rig. You can download 3Dmark06 from most torrent sites if you don't want to pay for it. It really works out your system and you can compare your score to others online who have exactly the same CPU/GPU configuration as your self.
My 3Dmark06 score is a measly 4450....... I need to upgrade!!!! |

The hard-drive is very nosiy but I think the case is part of the reason as it sounds like vibrations. I wonder if I can get sound dampener to put between the drive and the case?
The motherboard is great, I had no problems installing it and it works fine. The Input/Output plate could be higher quality but I may have mangled it a bit when installing it. |

| How's your rig running? Interested in what speed you're running the FSB at. Any pics yet? |

| Its running great. I haven't started overclocking so the Core2Duo is at stock speed. I will post some photos later today. I had some trouble installing the Nvidia Forceware as it disabled VGA output for some reason. I uninstalled the drivers that came with my card and then installed the Forceware and its working fine. Half-Life 2 plays like a dream with everything at max. The only problem is my TV is 60hz so I'm limited to 60 FPS without tearing. |

Its a HDTV Samsung PAVV LCD 32 inch , LN32T71BDN. Thanks again.
The memory is just generic Samsung DDR2-800 1 GB. Search for that on Danawa.com and you'll find it or just ask for Samsung memory and show them the required type and clockspeed. |

| It seems to have settled down now. I screwed it in a little tighter. I leave it on all night downloading torrents and it doesn't keep me awake. I'm gonna get a new case next month though. |

That Coupe 250 looks like it'll keep your component's nice and cool in the summer...3 fans, one the size of the side of the case. 45,000
I am using a new Samsung "Magic Station" (P4) that my school bought me for my apt. It's a thin and compact style tower but I kid you not, it is silent I can't even hear it w/ my ear pressed up against the case....can hardly imagine the noise a com can make that would keep you up at night, though. |

GREAT COMPUTER! Though, I would get a better case than that. It just doesn't seem to allow a smooth airflow. |

| That's the plan, CL. The case is the only cheap component I bought, maybe the PSU, LG? |

Been doing much gaming, Corroonb?
I'm thinking of getting an 8800GTS 320mb. I was wondering how they perform with new-ish 3D games.
Are you running games at full resolution on that big widescreen??!! That must be stretching your card to the max.
You're running Vista? How have your games behaved for you? Vista has refused to play Call of Duty for me. |

| Yep, I'm a hard-core gamer. All the games I've tried except the demo of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic have worked perfectly including Stalker. The 8800 GTS 320 MB is a very good card especially at mid range resolutions. My TV is 1368x768 so its not so high as some monitors which go up to 25601600 which is where the extra V-Ram in the 640 MB or the 8800 GTX comes in handy. I'm currently spending 5 hours every night on Medieval 2: Total War, conquering Europe. Performance is awesome in Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander, Oblivion etc. Vista is okay, I won't replace it. I too "acquired" a Ultimate copy. I get too many crashes with Windows Explorer and some other programs too but games are fine. |
