Getting a new visa...yeah...
Does one need to get new transcripts sent from home, or do the authorities make the connection that your current visa serves as proof of your education? (I'm guessing no.) |

New visa means all NEW documentation including transcripts, embassy certified degree copy, etc. |

I am 100% sure. Been down that path many times.
NEW visa = new docs again AND visa a run.
Visa transfer = no. |

Will immigration accept unopened official transcripts that are more than a year old? I had multiple copies made that I have here in Korea, will I need to order new transcripts? Thanks! |

If they are unopened then there should be no reason they would not accept them unless something has been done to the seal...In terms of the credentials, the longer you stay the less some employers will hassle you if you simply have the current employer give you a letter of release and you can trust that they don't stab you in the back...
Been to two different places during my four years here and the biggest hassle was having to go to immigration 3 times in four years to show them the same documentation I have shown them in each of my visits...This year they finally caught on to the fact that my credentials are legit and they didn't ask me to come in again this year...The largest problem is with the way that immigrations fails to see the value of holding onto the information people show them by simply putting into their system like they do for the Korean nationals...That could actually create an information resource that would stop 99% of the trouble in most situations... |
