Post and answer Korean mysteries here.

Here's one;

Why is it that when you go into a Korean PC bang, you never, never see a Korean use the internet?

Please don't tell me that it's because every single Korean has internet at home. Back in North America, owning a computer is common as well as having the internet, but you still see people using the net at internet cafes.

There's gotta be another explanation.

Why don't they make a bigger bill than that damn 10,000 note?

Why do the subway lines often end earlier on weekends?

Answer: To make me feel like a drug dealer every time I pull out a big wad of money.

I saw TWO Koreans using the internet in a PC bang.

Now I'm confused....are my Koreans a mystery, or is your question still a mystery?

-Why do Koreans break every traffic law whenever possible, all to get somewhere as fast as humanly possible, only to have no concept of a schedule once they arrive at their destination?

-Why do Korean women in their 20s speak more like little girls than girls in their teens, and then why do women in their 30s voices suddenly deepen, and start talking manishly?

-Why does every tree have to be shaped? Was god a *beep*-up?

-Why do traffic laws not apply to scooter drivers?

-Why is Seoul pushing a non-smoking by-law outdoors, while utterly refusing to enforce indoor smoking laws already on the books?

-Why do they give you such little glasses of water at restaurants, when the food is generally spicey?

-Why is food so cheap at restaurants, but so expensive at the supermarket?

-Why in 2007 do people still let ajosshi's get a free pass for every conceivable abhorent (sic) behaviour?

So...that's how things work in Sacheon City.

I knew exactly what he was talking about. Sure...you may see a few using the internet sometimes, but it's very rare.

I always thought it was kind of a "I came here to play games and that's it, because Omma won't pester me for being 32 and wasting time on games or being 16 and skipping class" or "I would rather come here and pay by the hour to play a game because buying the whole box seems expensive even though in the long run I'm being ripped off, but at least here I can curse out loud and spit in the ashtray"

Why do Western expats travel to Korea, stay there for years, call it their home, and still whine endlessly about the same crap you experience back stateside?

-why is it that koreans are horribly unaware and inconsiderate drivers, but lower their headlights when idle at a light in order to reduce the glare for the drivers in front of them?

Why do some Koreans stand right next to you in a virtually empty subway car?
