Farm attacks in South Africa is a serious problem and it seems the farmers are taking steps to protect themselves. The dum@ss goverment is not doing anything so.......

How are they trained?

Are they loyal like dogs? Is that why they rear cubs?

There's only so much training you can do to a lion. Some 80% of their behavior is instinct. You're not going to make friends with it, and I wonder how much loyalty you could instill (even if you raised it from a young cub). Big cats I watched at the PIttsburgh Zoo when I worked there were always aggressive, even in the cases where they were raised in tandem with humans from birth.
