| I may be missing something here but just beause the chances of something are long doesn't mean that there is a creator of the universe. Because we don't know how doesn't mean we have to put God in that space. |

Well, umm, duh. Any idea about the beginning of the universe (that which was before the big bang or what caused it) is pure supposition. The point is there is not only one that leads to the conclusion "so god". There are many logically sound alternatives. You may personally feel they're unlikely, but that's the fallacy of personal incredulity. "I don't believe this is right, so it can't be."
Of course to call many of them uncritically examined is to speak from gross ignorance.
For example, the "brane" hypothesis. There does seem to be some critical examination there. No? Although your term "critical examination" is rather open to interpretation. What do you mean by that?

Science merely defines what is going on, whatever it is, is truly VAST! It is certainly going on in some form of rational logic. It is leading to something. It's been going of for awhile.
I think it is foolish and rather egocentric to try to define it as an either/or question. Faith vs Science! Give me a break.
Something is going on! I don't think of it as faith, I think that it is just common sense that it is headed toward some sort of inherent master plan. |

Probably the worst use of the phrase 'common sense' I've seen in a while. You think there is a master plan so therefore it is common sense. I don't think it works like that. |

What do you base this idea that "it" is leading to "something"?
What is "it"? What is "something"? |

Another sentient puddle. I don't think science is egocentric since most astronomers would consider Earth as 'pale blue dot'. Believing there is purpose for us defined by God is certainly egocentric as is believing the universe has a purpose for us too. |
